This summer, explore London’s canal waterway with GoBoat London and Torqeedo, the market leader in the fast-growing marine electric propulsion industry.

Moored at Paddington Basin, GoBoat London offers Londoners and tourists alike the opportunity to explore London in an exciting new way this summer, by chartering their own electric boat. Sustainability is a core principle of GoBoat London; 80% of each of the company’s boats are made from recycled plastic, any wood used on the boats are sourced sustainably and the electric Torqeedo motors that power them ensure minimal noise and no environmental pollution.

UK Sales Manager for Torqeedo, John Arnold, comments, “Torqeedo motors feature the latest in environmentally-friendly technology and are put through extremely rigorous testing to ensure that they are as efficient and reliable as possible. Our low powered version of the Cruise 2.0 has been designed for the rental market and we are thrilled that so many people will get to use Torqeedo motors as they navigate and explore the waterways of the capital. It’s fantastic that the GoBoat London team are adding to their fleet this season with two new boats.”

Grant Sweeney, founder of GoBoat London, says, “It was really important that the ethos of GoBoat remained green. So, when we were looking for a way to power our boats, Torqeedo’s electric motors were the obvious choice. They are environmentally friendly and really quiet, meaning that people can enjoy their trip along the canals without having to talk over the sound of an engine. They are also really straightforward to use, and you don’t need a license to drive one of our boats, meaning that anyone can have the freedom of going on their own adventure on the water.”

Perfect for taking in the sights of the city, GoBoat London groups can travel along the  waterways at 3 ½ knots, approximately 4mph. Ideal for picnics, each boat is set up with seating around a central table, creating a sociable space for friends and families, with kids and dogs welcome on board. You can even bring a bottle of bubbly with you and GoBoat will provide cosy blankets in case the weather turns chilly.

With prices starting from £59 for one hour, customers can invite up to seven friends to join them, making this a great value activity at just over £7 per head.
