MDL Marina’s Ocean Village has welcomed an exciting new restaurant, Steak of the Art, to the prestigious marina.

Combining an electric artistic atmosphere with some of the best steaks on the south coast, Steak of the Art, treats diners with a real wow factor, including a quirky crow’s nest where up to six diners can sit and enjoy their meal while overlooking the rest of the venue.

The restaurant itself is a living gallery with pictures and paintings on display (and for sale) from local artists. The team has already linked up with the Southampton Arts Society who will display 30 pieces of art for 10 weeks.

The idea for the venue comes from art lover and classically trained chef, Steve Bowen, whose concept to provide simple but delicious food, served within an artistically inspired environment has already proved a big hit in Bristol and Cardiff.

Manager of the Ocean Village venue is Will Chadwick, while the kitchen team is to be led by Dina Spencer who was inspired by the provenance of the food and the chance to be part of a fresh and exciting new concept. The importance of sourcing the very best ingredients is a real labour of love for the team and is reflected in the quality of the meat and fish served.

Debbie Burns, Ocean Village Marina Manager, commented: “The venue is looking really good and quirky, it’s an innovative concept and it’s so nice that they support local artists. We’re really excited to welcome the team to the marina and more importantly we can’t wait to try the steaks!”
