DAME award win sets up positive METS for Dometic

Dometic celebrated a DAME Design Award for its WAECO CRX refrigerator on the opening morning and maintained a buoyant mood on its stand throughout a successful three-day METS 2015.

Launching the versatile CRX fridge with patented removable freezer compartment at this year’s show, Dometic collected the prestigious DAME Award in the ‘interior equipment, furnishing, materials and electrical fittings used in cabins’ category.

The leading supplier of HVAC, engine room ventilation, watermakers, toilet systems and galley equipment also introduced two new MasterFlush toilet systems with a remote seawater pump for quiet flushing. In addition, the company showcased its Ship-Wide Ventilation range and held specialist training on the products for European account managers.

Kester Petersson, Head of Business Development and Marketing EMEA – Marine Aftermarket, commented: “It was great to celebrate an award-winning start to the show this year with the DAME accolade for the CRX fridge. It created a really positive atmosphere on the stand which we maintained throughout a very busy three days. A lot of attention was focused on the CRX and it is exciting to be able to launch the fridge to the market with this added recognition. However, there was also a great deal of interest in our other products with a constant flow of people interacting with the Dometic personnel and viewing the displays.

“METS is always a key date in the calendar for us, both as a way to introduce our new products and meet with our international dealers and distributors, but also to unite the company and inspire us for the year ahead.

“We were also able to incorporate a valuable training session this year on our new Ship-Wide Ventilation range, led by our engineer Nelson Frolund. He instructed several account managers on the different products within the range and the technical analysis required to select the correct products and customise them for specific vessels. This is just another example of how METS brings the company together, allowing us to share valuable information which will benefit our customers. We are already looking forward to next year’s show.”
