East coast marina is named UK’s busiest application centre for the leading long-term antifoul solution
Suffolk Yacht Harbour is celebrating a record-breaking year for the number of Coppercoat antifoul applications it completed during 2016.
The east coast’s largest privately-owned marina treated 39 yachts with Coppercoat last year and already has 29 applications booked and scheduled to be carried out by the end of April.
Following its success as the UK’s busiest application centre of the high-performance multi-season antifoul, Suffolk Yacht Harbour has invested in a new purpose-built advanced spray shop to support the increasing demand for Coppercoat applications. The environment-controlled facility can accommodate vessels up to 60 feet in length. Suffolk Yacht Harbour has several years’ experience in applying Coppercoat to the highest standards for their customers. The growth in business and newly expanded facility coincides with the marina’s 50th anniversary year in 2017.
Joshua Major, Boat Yard Services Director at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, said: “Coppercoat is the most popular workshop sale we make as many customers see the long term and cost saving benefits. At the Harbour, we have boats outside being prepared for applications, alongside finished boats, with yachts continually being sprayed. At our new state of the art facility customers can watch the entire applications process stage-by-stage.”
He added: “I’ve seen many vessels with Coppercoat that was applied over two decades ago and are still 100% intact. Because of this we confidently offer a five-year adhesion warranty with all applications. Approximately one third of our Coppercoat customers are from Suffolk Yacht Harbour with the remaining travelling from as far as Scotland. This increases our customer base, which is a fantastic advantage for future business. 2016 was an amazing year for us with Coppercoat and 2017 is showing signs of breaking that record.”
