The Four Oarsmen maintain the lead in the Atlantic Challenge

The Four Oarsmen have just over 700 miles to row for the Antigua finish of the 3,000-mile Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge, which started in La Gomera in the Canaries on December 14th. Estimated to land in Antigua on January 14th, The Four Oarsmen have maintained a blistering pace, leading right from the start.

Under constant pressure from the chasing fleet just a few miles astern, The Four Oarsmen have suffered blistered hands and sore buttocks but remain as determined as ever to step ashore in Nelson’s Dockyard as victors of this most testing of challenges.

The Four Oarsmen are four close friends raising funds and awareness for Mind and Spinal Research, two charities close to their hearts. Appearing on ITV just prior to the start they displayed an enviable resolve to not just take part, but to win, and in doing so raise substantial sums for their two charities. Fundraising has been highly successful, and now with just the finish line ahead of them, their winning goal is in sight with a final push.

Saltwater Stone is proud to be a sponsor of The Four Oarsmen. When they first came into our office in March 2017, we were immediately impressed by their sheer guts and determination to do this crazy race but to have held the lead from the start is truly amazing.

You can follow the rest of their journey via their social media channels and the race trackertoo, and post messages of support and words of encouragement through the final days of this gruelling event.
