From simulators to Sailability, the RYA has plenty on offer for all sailors at this year’s RYA Suzuki Dinghy Show, taking place at Alexandra Palace from 05-06 March.
On Stand F42, in the Panorama Hall, RYA Publications will be showcasing the new RYA Start Sailing books alongside the latest eBook releases. RYA members will receive a 20% discount on all titles. With author Claudia Myatt on hand to demonstrate the new Go! Series of eBooks in the Kids’ Corner, there is plenty to keep everyone occupied.
RYA Sailability, this year located on stand G28, can offer help and advice to individuals and organisations on a whole range of current issues. With friendly staff on hand to answer your queries, make sure you stop by their stand and say hello.
Elsewhere in the Panorama Hall, the Honda RYA Youth RIB simulator is a brand new addition to the show. The simulator will enable competitors to take on the programme’s Championship course in a virtual Highfield 460 RIB – the same boat used by Championship participants. Stop by to find out more about the championship and test yourself against your mates, with prizes up for grabs.
There will also be the chance to hang out on the RYA Magic Marine Trapeze or jump aboard the RS Sailing simulator and sail a course.
With Rio 2016 now just months away, make sure you visit the British Sailing Team stand in Palm Court, where you can find out all you need to know about the team and their progress in the hunt for medals. British Sailing Team sailors will also be holding talks from 12:45 both Saturday and Sunday.
On the RYA British Youth Sailing & Volvo Cars Stand, you will be able to gain some great advice on getting involved in racing at all levels. With members of the British Sailing Team also stopping by to give their expert tips, plan a trip to stand C36 during your time at the Show.
The Green Blue, a joint initiative between the RYA and British Marine, will be celebrating five years of Check, Clean, Dry at the show. The Green Blue team will challenge the show’s younger visitors to help stop the spread of Invasive Non-Native Species (INNS) by attempting to remove as many alien species as they can from a sailing dinghy – in the shortest time possible.
RYA Sport Development Manager Duncan Truswell said: “We are delighted to be able to showcase the whole range of RYA activities and services that we offer. Whether you want to learn more about our racing programmes, meet members of the British Sailing Team or get involved in the simulators, there is so much on offer for everyone at the show.”
