Visitors to this year’s Southampton Boat Show flocked to the Show’s Aquarium today to trial the UK’s first ever seaweed flavoured sweets. Within hours all the samples had been devoured and written feedback proved them to encapsulate the true scents and aromas of the sea.
Surrounded by the sea creatures and corals found at the Show’s Aquarium, visitors reported the experience of being beside the coast brought vividly to life upon eating the sweets, with their distinct dark green colour and salty undertones.

“Love them. Nice and sweet but with hints of the sea! Reminds me of being on holiday.”
“Can tell its seaweed flavour but isn’t overpowering. They brought me back to my hometown on the coast.”
“Very sweet initially but then hints of saltiness come through. Just like being at the sea.”
Tomorrow is the last opportunity to visit this year’s Southampton Boat Show and get onboard some of the Show’s other great attractions providing a taste of the marine world – including plenty of opportunities for visitors to get out on the water for free. From Try-a-Boat and the Adventure River Canoe Ride through to the Get Afloat experience, there is something for everyone.
