Gill Race Sailing Shorts

REVIEW- Gill Race Sailing Shorts

Having had the full summer and autumn to test these shorts, we thought it high time to report back on them.

The Gill Race Sailing Shorts are designed for sport and keel boat racing in warmer conditions, however we tested them canoeing during the Welsh summer and on the Solent during the autumn and found them perfect for the conditions.

Gill have used a Nylon Tactel fabric in its construction which provides a quick drying and abrasion resistant product with 50+ UV protection. This is ideal for all but the most industrial tasks and they wore well during the season without tearing or fraying.

They look good in an understated graphite colour with lime green detailing.  A nice backlash against the current crop of garish coloured sportswear.

They felt great to wear having a semi elasticated waist, and the press stud/button combination kept them securely fastened during use; a point that some sports shorts fail miserably on.

There’s bags of storage with two hand pockets and a zippered thigh pocket on the right side with an additional Velcro secured pocket incorporated on the outside.

Due to the light weight quick drying fabric these shorts were comfortable to wear even when wet kneeing in a canoe paddling for extended periods.
