RS Feva SW Winter Training ends on a high at Torbay

Royal Torbay Yacht Club hosted the last of the RS Feva SWOT Winter series events over the bank holiday weekend.

Once again it was a superb weekend, with sailors representing 10 clubs from across the West Country and South West.

The fleet enjoyed beautiful sunshine and perfect wind on Saturday, particularly welcomed by new Feva sailors joining the group from North Devon and Salcombe Yacht clubs, as well as some less experienced sailors from the home club.

The team meal on Saturday night went down well with everyone, especially the knickerbocker glory, most of the kids had never heard of it, but it got the parents reminiscing!

On Sunday coaches Bex Partridge, Charlie Makepeace and James Dowrick ran some testing exercises, adapted to suit the various sailing levels, culminating in a final series of 3 races.

At the final presentation the coaches were awarded their RS Feva SW ‘Here’s Harken’ beanies, which they had coveted all season, and the Class Association were delighted to announce that the team of Bex, Charlie and James will be running next year’s series, plus potentially some summer training camps too.
