Interform Marine: All Hands on Deck with KiwiGrip at the London Boat Show

Visitors to the London Boat Show are invited to roll up their sleeves and have a go at applying one of the world’s leading non-skid marine deck coatings, KiwiGrip, in a demonstration area on the Interform Marine stand. As a new UK distributor for KiwiGrip, the team at Interform Marine will be welcoming visitors to their stand for a chance to find out how easy it is to apply and achieve a beautiful finish with the revolutionary coating, which originated in New Zealand.

Providing a high-traction surface, KiwiGrip is a water-based and durable paint that achieves a seamless, uniform and textured finish using the KiwiGrip roller, supplied with the paint. By varying the application technique, the texture can be adjusted from a smooth pleasure boat texture to a more rugged work boat texture. As a homogeneous material, KiwiGrip doesn’t suffer from the problems encountered with products filled with sand, walnut shells, beads, rubber fleck or other fillers. Coatings with fillers tend to wear through and the fillers fall out, leaving an unsafe deck that is hard to clean and even harder to re-coat.

Containing a UV stabiliser for colour protection, KiwiGrip is available in four standard colors: white, cream, light grey and light blue. It is easily tinted to a custom pastel colour and can also be purchased in black. Extremely versatile, KiwiGrip can be applied over wood, fiberglass, epoxy, concrete or metal. It is a water-based non-toxic acrylic paint that contains no volatile solvents or compounds allowing safe application without having to wear a mask and as one-component paint, it offers excellent value for money in addition to a significant reduction in application time.

Surface preparation is also easy with KiwiGrip as it can be rolled on nicely over cleaned surfaces without grinding or sanding. Being non-toxic and water-based, it is cleaned up easily with soap and water.

KiwiGrip is available from Interform Marine in two pack sizes, 4-litre tin priced at £132.00 and a 1-litre tin priced at £44.40. The special rollers used to apply the paint are priced at £7.20 for a 4” or £11.52 for a 9”. All prices are inclusive of VAT.
