ACR Electronics debuts new AIS products

Marine Equipment Trade Show, Amsterdam, November 17, 2015 – Global leader in safety and survival technologies ACR Electronics, Inc., a Drew Marine Company, introduces its new Class A and Class B AIS (Automatic Identification System) transceivers for the first time at METS (Hall 1 Stand 01.700).

The AISLink CA1 and AISLink CB1 are compact, reliable and easy-to-use devices which are ideal for a wide range of leisure boaters looking to improve safety by incorporating AIS technology into their onboard equipment.

Competitively priced and with a rugged and waterproof design, the ACR AISLink CB1 is a recommended option for most leisure boaters as it enables them to see and be seen on the water, increasing navigational safety particularly in areas of high congestion or when visibility is poor.

The device sends and receives wireless navigational data to and from nearby boats and vessels including the vessel’s name, position, course or speed over ground, heading and rate of turn. It also has an internal GPS antenna, which makes an external antenna optional so users are able to save time on installation while also saving on space.

Certified worldwide to the latest AIS regulations, it features NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 data output which allows for seamless interaction with navigation systems.

Users are also able to place the transceiver in silent mode, providing both privacy and security as this enables users to turn off the transmission of identifying information while still seeing transmissions from other vessels with AIS.

A leading Class A option, the versatile AISLink CA1 is a GPS-enabled, commercial standard system which demonstrates the highest AIS transmission power and the most frequent transmission of AIS information.

Developed to clearly display and track critical safety and navigational information, the unit provides users with an extensive feature set including an easy-to-use graphical interface with multi-lingual capability and a large, highly-visible monochrome LCD display. It interacts seamlessly with navigation systems through its NMEA 0183 interface and is very easy to install.

Additional features include the ability to send and receive AIS text messages, alarm notification showing active AIS system alarms and password protection of specific transceiver information.

The ACR AISLink CA1 and CB1 are both appropriate for vessels which will soon be required to install AIS to comply with the new USCG AIS mandate. The type of system is dependent on factors including the number of passengers, operating area and maximum speed.

ACR’s product line includes a full range of AIS transceivers, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons (EPIRBs), Personal Locator Beacons (PLBs), Search and Rescue Transponders (SARTs), AIS Man Overboard Beacons, VHF radios, searchlights, rescue strobe lights, pyrotechnics and other safety accessories.
