Chelsea Magazines are on board as Media Partner of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race

The Island Sailing Club, organisers of the largest yacht race of its kind in the World, the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race, is delighted to announce that The Chelsea Magazine Company Ltd, publishers of three leading sailing magazines, Yachts and Yachting, Sailing Today and Classic Boat, have come on board as the combined Race Media Partner with immediate effect.

Commenting on the new partnership, Simon Temlett, Publisher, said:

“The Round the Island Race is a highlight of the sailing calendar and much-loved by the readers of our marine titles. By formalising our relationship as a Race Media Partner we can build on the relationship that has been established between the Race and the magazines over the years, enabling us to provide additional value for our readers and advertisers, the Race, its Title Sponsor, existing Race Partners and the Official Charity.”

The Partnership includes an exclusive Round the Island Race digital souvenir guide, preview news and print features running over the next few months and including post-race reports across all three titles, all supported with digital coverage and social media posts.

The Race Press Officer, Peta Stuart-Hunt, welcomes the move:

“It is important that as an event we keep moving forward at every level. To continue to reach as wide a sailing audience as possible we need top quality targeted media coverage. Working with the Editors I firmly believe this partnership will help to encourage even more entries and motivate sailing newcomers and even more families to come and do the Race.”

Race Management spokesman Dave Atkinson added:

“It’s all about engaging with the entire sailing community, whatever their age or gender, whether they are out and out racers, cruiser racers and/or love racing classic boats.   The three titles are a perfect fit for us and our competitors and the partnership provides plenty of opportunities to suit both sides.”
