Ocean Signal rescueME MOB1 is double winner at Fisheries Supply’s 2015 Awards

Ocean Signal’s rescueME MOB1 has collected two awards at Fisheries Supply’s 2015 InNEWvation product awards.

Incorporating both AIS and DSC technologies within the most compact product on the market, the rescueME MOB1 was selected from more than 100 nominated products as the Grand Prize Winner. The device was also named the best new product in the Safety category.

The rescueME MOB1 was chosen due to its capability to provide recreational and commercial fishermen alike with a valuable safety device, dramatically increasing the chance of survival for anyone who falls overboard.

The Fisheries Supply award wins are the latest accolades picked up by the Ocean Signal Man Overboard device after it was nominated for a DAME Design Award in the ‘lifesaving and safety equipment’ category at METS 2015 and recognised in the Safety Category of the 2015 SAIL Magazine Pittman Innovation Awards.

Joe Bauschka, North American Sales Manager, Ocean Signal, said: “We would like to thank Fisheries Supply for selecting the rescueME MOB1 for two awards. The product was judged next to many other innovative and high quality products so we are delighted that our device stood out from the competition. We are looking forward to introducing this innovative Man Overboard device to even more boaters in the US.”

Announced at Safeco Field following the opening day of the 2015 Pacific Marine Expo, the Fisheries Supply awards were presented to 11 category winners. The honours were decided by a panel of industry experts, with individual judges including brokers, builders, boat yard managers and media members. Each nominated product was rated on a variety of factors such as its overall value, durability, aesthetics and ease of installation. The judges selected the rescueME MOB1 as the best overall new and innovative product.

“The MOB1’s combination of the proven DSC and AIS technologies into a small form factor that can be integrated with an inflatable vest makes it an indispensable tool for the safety-conscious boater,” said Alex Sutter, Vice President, Fisheries Supply Company. “We were not surprised to see the judges pick it as the overall winner, and we are pleased to make this new and innovative safety tool available to boaters.”

Ocean Signal’s rescueME MOB1 is the world’s most advanced Man Overboard locating device, incorporating both AIS and DSC technologies, and is 30% smaller than similar products. The device is designed to easily integrate into life jackets, ensuring the best chance of rapid rescue for an MOB in extreme conditions.

Fisheries Supply is a leading marine equipment supplier to both the commercial and recreational marine markets.

The rescueME MOB1 will be highlighted as the best new product at the Fisheries Supply Booth 1521 at the Seattle Boat Show from January 29 to February 6.
