Exhibitors from all over the south coast will be showcasing their products and innovations at next week’s commercial marine exhibition and conference, Seawork International 2015.
Opening on Tuesday, with over 600 global exhibitors, an impressive 184 organisations will be attending from the UK South Coast.
Although renown as Europe’s leading commercial marine and workboat exhibition held in a working port, Seawork has always remained true to its heritage. Located in the Port of Southampton since its inception in 1989, for 18 years it has opened its doors every June without fail – growing year on year.
Suppliers are also sourced locally, with Fareham-based Walcon Marine providing the pontoons in the purpose-built Seawork Marina who have done so since Seawork first began, which will berth 62 vessels from dive scooters through to 80’ tugs.
Isle of Wight headquartered South Boats will be bringing their new wind farm service vessel, purchased by fellow islander, Seacat Services.
Portchester-based Burgess Marine, which also owns SureBuild and Meercat Workboats, will be signing a contract with Mainprize Offshore at Seawork. Mainprize will also be taking delivery of its new 26m wind farm service vessel, MO2, which was ordered at last year’s Seawork. International delegations are due to arrive for the week who will be meeting with local businesses to discuss export and collaboration opportunities, made in association with the UKTI.
Over 7,500 visitors are due to arrive from all corners of the globe, with pre-registration figures at a record high. These visitors represent all aspects of the maritime sector from renewables, to marine civils, to commercial diving through to shipbuilding
More than 40 new products and services will make their global debut at Seawork on Day One alone and over 10,000 products and services will fill the three halls, quayside and marina to the gunnels; resulting in many £multi-millions’ worth of business expected to be secured at the three-day event in Southampton.
In addition to the exhibition itself, there are demonstrations, a three-day conference and an innovations showcase.
Entrance to Seawork International is free of charge. The event runs Tuesday 16 June through to Thursday 18 June. Visit www.seawork.com to find out more about this unique exhibition.
