The first 13-metre ORC pilot boat to enter service in the UK will be part of a showcase at Europe’s largest commercial marine and workboat exhibition.
The vessel will be exhibited on the pontoon at Seawork, in Southampton, next week, July 3-5, by boat builders Goodchild Marine Services Limited, and is one of the company’s latest advances within the industry.
She has been ordered by Estuary Services Limited and will operate in the Thames Estuary following the show.
Other 13.6m ORC’S are already in production at Goodchild Marine’s yard in Burgh Castle, Norfolk, with a hybrid option available – the first of which has just been ordered by the Port of London and will be completely emission-free in electric mode.
Tony Birr, Business Development Manager, at Goodchild Marine, will be delivering a presentation about the hybrid option of pilot boats during the Seawork Commercial Conference, on Wednesday, July 4, at 15.10pm.
Also displayed in Goodchild Marine’s berth will be Commercial Rib Charter’s 14.5-metre aluminium Crew Transfer Vessel, which follows the delivery of a similar boat ‘Galaxy’ in GRP.
Inside the exhibition is a working model of the company’s Man Overboard Recovery Platform. Designed to lift a casualty horizontally to prevent the risks of cardiac arrest, the system is available for both new builds and retro fits.
Goodchild Marine is the UK agent for Italdraghe and will be showcasing
a full-size hydraulic dredging head, which can fit onto any hydraulic excavator, and makes it a mobile cutter suction dredger.
Tony, Alan Goodchild, Managing Director, and Steve Pierce, General Manager, will be available throughout the exhibition to share their expertise and answer any questions.
Operating from a brand new, larger stand this year, Goodchild Marine is currently celebrating 40 years in business.
Steve Pierce, General Manager said: “We have been ever-present at Seawork since day one because we believe it is the best exhibition and conference in the industry.
“It is a great platform for us to share our expertise and engage with potential partners and buyers – and each year we strive for bigger and better.
“This year is very special as it is our 40th anniversary and we are confident that we have a diverse range of products and boats to display, demonstrating our ethos of continually listening to market interest and responding with a positive solution.”
Goodchild Marine’s long-standing partnership with Briggs Marine will be marked by a networking drinks reception on the stand at 4pm both days.
