Mercator Media, organisers of Europe’s largest commercial marine exhibition, Seawork International, introduces Speed@Seawork – the latest sector-specific feature for Seawork 2018.
The new dedicated two-day event will be held from Monday 2 July, running in parallel with the main Seawork 2018 exhibition that takes place 3-5 July at Mayflower park, Southampton, UK.
Fast vessels operating at high speed for security interventions and Search And Rescue are a significant specialist sector of the commercial marine business. Speed@Seawork is aimed squarely at facilitating growth and development for the design, build and operation of these specialist vessels. As operating demands increase, new solutions for propulsion, navigation, communications and care of the crew will be needed. Speed@Seawork offers a great opportunity for new exhibitors, and the many existing Seawork exhibitors, to service this dynamic and growing market.

Day One (Monday 2 July) of Speed@Seawork will enable boat builders and operators to showcase fast boats for interdiction, SAR, border force, riverine and humanitarian relief purposes, and for specialist equipment manufacturers to come together to share innovation and best practice for communications, navigation and safety. Sea trials will take place in the challenging conditions offered by the Solent and English Channel, which delivers a unique mix of sheltered, tidal and offshore sea states, ideal for demonstrating these fast vessels and equipment.
Day Two (Tuesday 3 July) will see the new Speed@Seawork Conference cover topics including hull design, vessel building, propulsion, navigation and communication, in addition to biomechanics and crew welfare.
