Global technical sailing brand, Helly Hansen, announces a three-year deal with one of the world’s largest yacht races, the Round the Island Race in association with Cloudy Bay, as its Official Clothing Partner.
Organised by the Island Sailing Club, the Round the Island Race is the famous one-day sailing event, attracting more than 1,600 boats with more than 16,000 sailors from around the world. Hosted on the Isle of Wight, it is one of the largest yacht races in the world and the fourth largest participation sporting event in the UK, after the London Marathon and the Great North and South Runs.
As Official Clothing Partner for the next three years, Helly Hansen is kitting out all the race volunteers and professionals who ensure the race runs smoothly. The brand is also providing the official Round the Island Race merchandise to competitors and spectators, with exclusive discounts on some of the latest Helly Hansen technical sailing gear, including its new Aegir Race and HP Foil collections.

Starting on the famous Royal Yacht Squadron line in Cowes, the fleet will race 50 nautical miles westabout, to The Needles, round St Catherine’s Point and Bembridge Ledge buoy, and back into the Solent to the finish line at Cowes. This year’s Round the Island Race will be held on the 1 July 2017.
