Torqeedo, the market leader in the fast-growing electric propulsion industry, announces the appointment of Marcia Kull as President of Torqeedo Group, Inc., from 1 May 2017.
As a newly created position within the company, Kull’s Presidency will expand the current management system, overseeing Torqeedo’s growth activities in America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions. She will be in charge of global sales and strategy for the brand.
Marcia joins Torqeedo with a wealth of experience, coming from Volvo Penta of America, where she was most recently Vice President of Marine Sales. Within this role, she led the sales teams in the recreational and commercial marine sectors for Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Her experience spans a range of positions across the marine and motor industry, including: General Counsel and Vice President of Dealer and Consumer Relations at Volvo Penta, Senior Vice President of Operations for Genmar Holdings, and Partner in trial law firm Bowman & Brooke representing boat and engine manufacturers.

University of Iowa graduate, Marcia, is currently a member of the NMMA Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, and serves as Chairwoman of the NMMA Engine Manufacturers Division Board of Directors. She has held leadership positions within both the American Boat and Yacht Council and International Marine Certification Institute, and was appointed by the Secretary of Homeland Security to serve on the National Boating Safety Advisory Council. In 2016, she was honoured as one of the Top 100 Women in Manufacturing by The Manufacturing Institute, and was named the Darlene Briggs Woman of the Year in 2007.
