Legendary roots reggae band Steel Pulse will headline the live entertainment for the 48th Antigua Sailing Week. Dubbed ‘The best live reggae band on the planet’ by Vibe magazine, Grammy Award winners Steel Pulse have shared the same stage as Bob Marley and the Wailers, The Police, The Clash and Billy Idol. Steel Pulse will be live on stage in Nelson’s Dockyard on the big party night, Tuesday 28 April along with iconic Antiguan soca star, Tian Winter.

Kennedy’s Club Ltd., a major beverage distribution company in Antigua has made the party possible with support from key brands Johnnie Walker Whisky and Presidente Beer, the Official Whisky and Beer of Antigua Sailing Week. Commenting on their support of Antigua Sailing Week this year, Dion Francis, Managing Director said: “Kennedy’s Club was formed in 1962, 6 years before Antigua Sailing Week was born and we have always had strong ties with the event. Following our return to sponsorship in 2014, we have worked with the organisers to develop a party schedule that both visiting sailors and the Antiguan community are going to love. We look forward to seeing the whole of Antigua at the parties to enjoy the atmosphere and welcome all visitors to our shores and our culture.”

Opening on Friday 24 April, The Presidente Beer Garden at Antigua Yacht Club will be the place to go after racing for a cold beer and daily prize givings, where a portfolio of beers from the Caribbean region and the USA will be found, including: Presidente, Red Stripe, Wadadli, Hairoun, Kubuli and Budweiser. The same great choice of beers will also be found all week in Main Brace, the old English Pub at the Copper & Lumber Store, Nelson’s Dockyard and on the lawn bars throughout the regatta. In addition, a Beer Festival will take place in Nelson’s Dockyard on Sunday 26 April with two of Antigua’s top musical acts performing live on stage; rock and pop band 17 61ยบ and beautiful soca diva, Claudette Peters.
